"It Could Have Been a Wonderful Life" is an original sequel to the 1946 movie, "It's a Wonderful Life." This adaptation of the original story was written by Steve Brown and Michael Ullstrup and it aired in December of 2006 as part of the WGTD Radio Theater series, created by Steve and Mike. This broadcast also won a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Meritorious Award.
The production included cameo roles for Karolyn Grimes and Jimmy Hawkins, two of the surviving cast members of the 1946 Frank Capra film. Grimes was "Aunt Zuzu" and Hawkins played "Uncle Tommy." Their recorded voices were intertwined with the lines of the "live" 91.1 Players.
Others stars included Dr. Bryan Albrecht, President of Gateway Technical College, the late Howard Brown, President and CEO of The Kenosha News, Mike Radigan, owner of “Ray Radigans” restaurant in Kenosha, and Kyle Farrell was “Jeffrey Bailey.”
